EXCELLENTBased on 23 reviewsVerifiedNot disclosed21 October 2023Great food and welcome Thanks to The Hotel Inspector programme we booked for lunch Great welcome from a young guy who worked behind the bar. It was a trifle cold on arrival, but the log burner was quickly lit. Choice of mains and specials. The fish pie was hot, really tasty, with choice of vegetables. The steak and ale pie was delicious, Best pastry tasted for ages. Good portion size, hot and well presented. The pub has several events during the year, fireworks night coming up in November. There is plenty of space in the garden, with covered non smoking area, tables and chairs and outside chess set for younger customers Internally the pub is well decorated and has a nice atmosphere We thought the pub offered great food, good portion sizes and had very welxoming and friendly staff. Will be backVerifiedhbr16 September 2023Lovely stay Lovely overnight stay in this quaint pub with dinner b & b Excellent meal & good wine list lovely staff ….. Nice room with comfy bed. Very quiet. Mark made us feel very welcome, and our room was very clean and comfortable. Mark is also the chef, and the food we had was excellent, both in the evenings and at breakfast. The pub was very friendly, there was a good car park and it is also dog friendly. We would highly recommend the King's Arms and would definitely stay again if we re in the area.VerifiedSerena C24 July 2022outstanding pub We held our wedding reception at King's Arms and can not thank Mark and Michael enough for an amazing day. Had a recent two night, mid-week, stay here. Nice pub, tastefully restored. Good room, comfortable bed, en suite with walk-in shower. Tasty full English breakfasts freshly cooked. Food even better! We lunch out every Sunday so get to visit most hotels and “pubs†. This has to go down as one of the best. Quality of food and the way presented and cooked superb! Can't go next Sunday as prebooked some time ago. As Arnold said “ I will be back†GreatVerifiedN'Erick W28 June 2017Finally a home made beef pie! That start to become our favorite pit stop after visiting Skydiving Langar. we stopped for lunch this time on a Sunday. I don't know if you are familiar with the feeling of recognizing dishes from a restaurant to another. Like the pies for example as they look like one another because they are made in the same place frozen and delivered all over the country.... Here the pie is HOME MADE and it taste better. My wife aimed for a cold platter which was pretty generous and abundant (that was great because I finished it!) Highly recommended
